My husband Kirk and I are both writers who met at a local college writing center where we both worked as tutors several years ago. I mainly write YA fiction while Kirk writes memoir, YA, literary and Bizarro fiction. Kirk’s first published novel, Uncle Sam’s Carnival of Copulating Inanimals, is part of the New Bizarro Authors series.
Throughout the month of March, Kirk is donating his royalties to the American Cancer Society. This month-long event is part of a larger movement known as HONEOWP (Helpful Outstanding Novelists, Editors, and Others in the Writing Profession) created by Michelle Garren Flye. You can find out more about HONEOWP here: http://michellegflye.wordpress.com/
Uncle Sam’s Carnival of Copulating Inanimals is available through Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Each month, Kirk’s publisher sends royalties–about 20% of the cover price. To participate visit:
I’m planning a similar event that I’ll run in April. I’ll be donating 10% of the cover price of Behind Green Glass to The American Organ Transplant Association. Stay tuned!
Of course both the ACS and AOTA are great organizations to donate to directly at any time. For us this is a way to promote our novels while raising money for good causes.
