Book Blogger Hop 3.4.11-3.7.11

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted weekly at Crazy-for-Books. Join to meet fellow book lovers and discover new reads.

This week’s question comes from Mia who blogs at Girl About Books:

“Who’s your all-time favorite book villain?”

I love the villains in both the book and movie version of The Princess Bride. I have trouble choosing between Prince Humperdink or Vizzini. Their evil natures are exaggerated; they parody other villains.  Their depravity? “Inconceivable!”

  1. Am I a bad librarian if I have never read the book, but worship the movie?? Great pick!
“Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die.” : )

  2. lmfao nice picks! 🙂 I love both villains from Princess Bride 🙂 New follower stopping by for the CFB FF blog hop 🙂 To find out my fave villain, please visit my site 🙂

  3. Ok – totally want to pull out my DVD of Princess Bride now!!!! 🙂 I like the book…. but admittedly, love the movie.

    Nice answer!!!!

  4. Ooh, tough choice. But I have to agree with an earlier comment: I’d say that Humperdink is more evil, because he masterminded the whole thing; Vizzini was just the hired gun. Although that really has no bearing, because the category is “Favorite Villain,” not “Most Evil Villain.” I wonder if anyone listed any totally incompetent villains?

  5. Humperdinck is so crazy! What a great choice. He’s the kind of villain you love to hate. I know it’s terrible, but I do like the movie better than the book, and I don’t say that often.
