Book Blogger Hop 2.4-2.7

This week’s question:

“What are you reading now and why are you reading it?”

This is sort of a painful subject. I just finished Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, the second in the Hunger Games Trilogy, and I need to read Mockingjay, but it didn’t come through interlibrary loan yet, so I’m faced with a weekend without it! Damn cliffhanger endings. I picked up The Hunger Games because of the great reviews, and I wasn’t disappointed.

  1. I wish I could share Mockingjay with you too! I’ve read the book and listened to the audio. Love the series. Hope it lives up to your expectations when you read it. And hope you find something else good to read in the meantime.
    Have a good weekend!

  2. Mockingjay is *very* intense. I know what you mean about the cliffhanger ending of Catching Fire – I read it when it first came out and then had to wait forever for Mockingjay!

  3. I havent read the hunger games, not sure if i will like it, i feel usually different for the famous books. im reading immortalis book 1 by katie salidas for review and im loving it! Happy friday!

  4. I’m a librarian, and I always have a ridiculous number of books checked out… and an even more ridiculous number of books on hold.

I remember the day Mockingjay was released! We had whole book trucks of them on hold, and hordes of people in all day to pick up the book.

I’m in the middle of reading what seems like half-a-dozen things at the moment!
Just started reading Trickster’s Girl by Hilari Bell
Still poring through Fantasy: An Artist’s Realm by Ben Boos
The Great Wall of Lucy Wu by Wendy Wan-Long Shang, which I’m reading for the 2011 Debut Authors Challenge. Plus, I’m reading Slice of Cherry by Dia Reeves, but only a few pages at a time, because it is even scarier and more intense than I had expected!

  5. Hopping by late!

I loved loved loved Mockingjay! Obviously, as I did a review a short while ago. I was avoiding it because of all the hype, which I’m nervous about after Twilight, but I was not disappointed. Your blog looks quite interesting; I’ll certainly come back!
