The library is cold in December. I keep a surplus army blanket in the bottom drawer of my file cabinet for the bitterest days. (Melodramatic, but warm). As much as I love my job, I have to admit I’d rather be home curled up in a comforter, playing Fable 3 or reading. I can think of three perfect winter stories:
1. Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow: Jessica George Day’s retelling of the Swedish fairytale “East of the Sun and West of the Moon.”
2. Aurelie: A Faerie Tale: A dreamlike novel featuring dracs and a princess by Heather Tomlinson.
3. The Snow Queen: The classic by Hans Christian Anderson. Gerda and Kai’s adventures are timeless.
