I was born in San Bernardino, California. When I was four years old, my family and I moved to a tiny town in New York so far north that Canada was practically in my backyard. During my childhood, books allowed me to travel outside of my rural environment, and I spent hours reading, usually sitting in our tree house or on our sunlit porch in the company of our cats. Strangely, now I find myself writing about the hometown I sought to escape.  However, I also like to write about matters outside of my experience, of imagined realms where fey and other magical beings exist.

When I was eighteen, I brought my love for reading and writing to SUNY Potsdam where I majored in English. In 2004, I received my M.A. degree.

Currently I work at a public library where I am happily surrounded by books and people that love books as much as I do. I am a mother, daydreamer, gamer geek and coffee addict. Behind Green Glass is my first published novel.
